STILLEVENS & BLOEMEN

Het oeuvre van Leempoels omvat 20 stillevens en bloemen, waarvan de helft ontstond tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog. Verf en pigmenten waren schaars (en duur) en niemand bestelde een portret... Waarschijnlijk ontstonden deze werkjes uit een combinatie van verveling en een poging om de geopende verftubes toch nog nuttig te gebruiken.

Een speciale vermelding is er voor Dr. Alfons Leempoels (1917-2024), Paula Leempoels en Staf De Keyser;
zij verdienen een hartelijke en warme "dankuwel" voor hun welgekomen bijdrage aan het tot stand komen van deze monografie.
